BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that doctors are working tirelessly to ensure the recovery of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Speaking to reporters at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Monday (1 December), he stated that local and foreign specialists are jointly monitoring every aspect of her health and conducting her treatment.
Fakhrul added that prayers and support for Khaleda Zia’s quick recovery are coming from people across the country, including party leaders and supporters. He also mentioned that detailed medical updates will be shared at an appropriate time by Standing Committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain.
On the same day, former coordinator of Gono Odhikar Parishad, Reza Kibria, formally joined the BNP at an event held at the office. Welcoming the new addition, Fakhrul said that a favorable environment for free elections has emerged and the government is preparing for elections in February. He added that if BNP is entrusted with state leadership, democracy will gain a stronger footing and the country’s economy will move forward with renewed momentum.
