Speaking at the divisional rally of the 8-party alliance at Khulna’s Shibbari Mor on Monday (1 December), he said, “If anyone, out of frustration or anger, tries to walk down the wrong path, the people will show firm resistance if necessary.” He added that certain groups are trying to divide the nation. Giving an example, he said, “Just as a shrimp moves backward when it cannot find a way forward, some people are trying to drag the nation backward.”

Regarding the Constitution of 1972, the Jamaat Ameer said, “Those who support this constitution stand in opposition to the position of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Even Begum Khaleda Zia, who is now in a critical condition, never supported the 1972 constitution.”

In conclusion, he stated that their goal is not the victory of any party or alliance, but the victory of the people: “We do not seek the victory of the 8-party alliance; we seek the victory of 180 million people. The triumph of the oppressed people is our prayer.”
